South Beach at First Light

Miami has a different mood.

I’ve been waking up early most mornings. Out on the sea there are usually crazy thunderstorms, and the sky’s always doing something different. It’s hot even at that time, but there’s something about getting out before the day really starts that I love.

Running’s always been a way for me to clear my head, figure things out, and just take in where I am. It’s also a great way to see a new city - the streets are quieter, and you get a sense of the place in a different way. South Beach wasn’t empty though - even at 6 a.m. it was packed with people sitting on the sand, drinking coffees, and watching the sunrise. There’s something lovely about that.

For this one, I was wearing Acid Running - super light and breathable in the heat and new Veja running shoes, which held up well on the mix of paths and sand.  

Afterwards, we grabbed coffees and sat on the beach. Watching the sun come up with everyone else. My Soho Studios tote was next to us with all the bits for the morning. Simple, slow, and exactly how I wanted to start the day.
