Poolside in the 1940s

Poolside in the 1940s

Slow mornings, poolside.

Started the day at The Shelborne by Proper - loved staying there. Their pool area has recently been refurbed back to its original 1940s Art Deco style, and you can feel it. The original diving board, the old features, the palms all around… it’s like stepping back in time. Super authentic, and the kind of place where you just forget what time it is.

It’s been crazy hot out here! 33 degrees most days, heavy humidity and no air. Each morning I’ve been using Heath Skincare - the protect face serum and moisturiser have been a bit of a game changer. Light, fresh, and perfect for this weather. It’s become my little ritual before heading out into the heat.

For sunglasses, I’ve been wearing a pair from Sunday Somewhere (Taylor Morris’s sister brand). They’re clean, timeless frames with a bit of edge - perfect for lounging by the pool but also work if you’re heading out for an early dinner.

My Carl Friedrik case comes with me everywhere - it’s been by my side from early morning airport runs to late-night check-ins. Durable, minimal, and quietly stylish, it’s become part of the ritual.

Mornings like this make you slow down and just soak it all up. <3
